Bright Smiles for Kansas Kids is a program for provider education on
Fluoride Varnish application for children ages 0 - 3. The program provids a one-hour online educational program for pediatric providers on fluoride varnish application along with a free tool kit featuring 50 free fluoride varnish applications for children ages 0-3. This program helps providers implement application of fluoride varnish as a part of the integration of oral health into physician’s offices.
Program goals
~ provide education to providers on applying fluoride varnish for children ages 0-3.
~ provide a free toolkit—that includes 50 free varnish applications and coding reimbursement information.
How To Sign Up
Training is provided by KansasTrain. If you don't already have a learner account, here's how to create one:
Log on to http://ks.train.org
~ Click “create account” on the left hand side of the screen beneath the “login” button. Complete the learner account by filling out all the necessary profile information on the subsequent pages. Required fields are indicated with a red asterisk (*).
~ Write down your Login ID and Password in a secure place.
Entering your Login and ID
~ Click on Course Search (top menu bar)
~ Put in Course #1013066 Click on the line “Bright Smiles for Kansas Kids” under Title
~ Click on the “Registration” tab, then select your “Credit Type” and click on the “Register” tab.
~ Click on “Assessment” to take the pre-test assessment.
~ Click on “Close” at the end of the pre-test assessment. Click on the “Register” Tab and then click on the “Launch” button to start the video training. Click the arrows to proceed.
~ Once completed, click on and take the “Post-test” assessment.

The toolkit contains:
60 Toothbrushes: Infant = 20, Child = 20, Youth = 20
50 Gauze squares
50 Fluoride Varnish applications (individual)
25 Benda brushes
15 Dental mirrors
Credit
Free Category 1 CME and Nursing CE credits are available.
